Contributing to environmental protection
Arzinger seeks to stand up for protecting the environment and contributing to the green recovery of Ukraine. Therefore, on 24 April 2021, we signed the UN Global Compact to adhere to the 10 Principles and Sustainable Development Goals. We understand the need for Ukraine to rebuild with cutting-edge technologies in mind, rather than with the outdated construction standards inherited from the Soviet era ("Build Back Better").
As part of its Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development practice, Arzinger provides the following services:
- Advice on regulatory policy issues
- Assistance and support in Environmental Impact Assessment / Strategic Environmental Assessment procedures
- Obtaining special environmental permits and licences as well as for high-risk works and/or operation of dangerous machinery and mechanisms
- Support for projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- Support in disputes with environmental regulators as well as representation in related administrative and criminal proceedings
- Support in waste disposal and management issues
- Support for comprehensive modernisation of enterprises in connection with the adaptation and implementation of EU legislation in Ukraine
- Support for business entities during inspections by the State Environmental Inspectorate
- Development of legislative acts and bylaws to approximate Ukrainian legislation to the EU legislation
