ARZINGER is providing comprehensive legal support in the high-profile case concerning the unlawful detention of Dmytro Karchuk, director of CEO Club Ukraine.
The work of the lawyers at ARZINGER involved handling all legal matters arising from the case, including developing a defence strategy, preparing all necessary documents and evidence to demonstrate the wrongful nature of the detention, coordinating with the Polish and German lawyers involved, and managing communications and public and political relations.
An interim result of the work was the revocation of the European arrest warrant by the German authorities and Dmytro’s release from custody in Poland.
As a reminder, on 28 July, Dmytro Karchuk was detained in Poland based on a European arrest order issued by the German authorities in connection with the alleged theft of 171 electric bicycles. ARZINGER partners Lana Sinichkina and Kateryna Gupalo coordinated the work of the legal team.
Lana Sinichkina commented on the case as follows: “The case is not yet over. We still need to establish the facts and the reasons behind the use of Dmytro’s personal data in Germany.”
Kateryna Gupalo noted: “The uniqueness and complexity of this case lie in its cross-border nature and the need for almost round-the-clock dedication due to time constraints.”
A key element of this effort was the widespread social and political support, including from friends and partners of CEO Club Ukraine. The situation attracted considerable public attention, whilst the Ukrainian Embassy in Lublin and the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs supported the cause at a diplomatic level. We would like to thank everyone who supported Dmytro!
