On 3 December 2009 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the course of reconsideration of the Law did not manage to override President’s veto. 218 deputies voted against the veto whereas at least 300 votes are needed to override it. As a result the specified Law did not come into effect.  

 

Thus prices for drugs and medicines will not be cut down as it was envisaged by the Law and legal regulation of pricing will be like heretofore performed in a manner provided for by resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine that currently determine the pricing procedure with regard to the specified goods.
